Our story and approach to therapy.

West Hartford Behavioral Health was founded in 2020 by Dr. Cara Wallace with a vision to create a warm, welcoming, and supportive space for children, adolescents, and families seeking mental health care in the West Hartford community. The WHBH team has expanded and is happy to now provide therapy for adults and evaluations focused on ADHD and immigration.

Our philosophy

At West Hartford Behavioral Health, we believe in a collaborative and strengths-based approach to therapy. We work closely with our clients to identify their unique strengths and build upon them to overcome challenges. We are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and affirming space for all clients, including those in the LGBTQ+ community. Our practice is grounded in evidence-based treatments, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and trauma-informed care, tailored to meet the specific needs of each individual.
